The Disney Princesses and how they influence the world

Disney has awed both adults and children alike for many years with their famous animated princesses. Popularly called Disney princesses, these outstanding characters have played a considerable role in influencing the lives of many people on almost every continent in the world. It is a formal franchise and has several other sub-lines under it, such as Disney “Palace Pets.”

When it comes to entertainment, princesses can be found almost everywhere; movies, cartoons, comic books, and even a slot machine called Moon Princess is becoming more and more popular in online casinos. However, the term ‘Disney Princesses’ refers to a group of movie heroines representing everything beautiful, magical, and talented in the world of Disney. It is quite easy to see why everyone is fascinated with them. Today they stand as a powerful influence in the entertainment industry. The Franchise of Disney Princesses has grown to become such a significant global phenomenon that it is almost impossible to imagine a world without it. Especially at Halloween custom dressing and in other fairy tales like romantic movies with a female protagonist.

From Cinderella to Elsa, the Princess’s world has everything you can imagine beautiful and feminine. It is a world that accepts the happily ever after stories and fairytales, depicting the lives of the women and girls who dreamed of something big throughout time.

The creation of Disney Princesses

In the Disney Princess franchise, although Snow White is the first Disney princess, she is the second behind Persephone.

The first Princess of Walt Disney Persephone, featured in a Greek Mythological story told after the goddess of the same name. Even though Persephone came before Snow White, she later played the movies Silly Symphonies, also called “The Goddess of Spring.” In the film, Persephone was found frolicking in the woods accompanied by several dwarf-looking-creatures to a tune that is notably different from the soundtrack of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

The emergence of Persephone created a platform for the creation of Snow White, whose concept was based on the heroine in the Brother Grimm Fairy tale “Schneewittchen,” according to the Walt Disney Family Museum.

The princesses

Contrary to popular belief, every Disney film with a princess can’t be described as ‘Disney Princess.’ The Disney Princess franchise was created to describe absolute fictional female Protagonists who have featured in the Disney film canon. Today the Franchise termed ‘Disney Princess’ describes eleven Princesses, some of which are princesses under birth or marriage. And others are regarded as princesses because of the magnitude of their portrayal in their movies.

Several Disney Princesses are unofficial and therefore not described or included in the Franchise as a result of abysmal marketing or due to how big and successful they turned out to be. Elsa and Anna became so successful that a franchise has been created in their honor.

The Princesses in the Franchise were selected based on how suitable they were for the Disney Princess Mythology.

Initially, these are the Disney Princess

  • Snow White
  • Cinderella
  • Aurora
  • Ariel
  • Belle
  • Jasmine
  • Pocahontas
  • Mulan

Other princesses who were later included in the Franchise is

  • Rapunzel

  • Moana and Tiana

Moana is a recent addition to the Franchise. It features doll lines, lunch boxes, children’s costumes, drink bottles, Palace Pets, bedding, ornaments, miniature figures, and many others. Also, the Princesses are the most popular feature of other characters in Disney Parks.

Many of the costumes of the Disney Princesses have been Updated. You can see them in the new remade outfits rather than ones worn in their various movies.

Every one of the Princesses is unique, enabling them to work well in a group.  Qualities such as loving every creature, an impressive singing voice, inner and outer beauty, and finally, the one quality they all share, a Disney Prince representing their romance, have made them well-loved by everyone. Each character and behavior depended on the era they were created in.

For example:

Aurora, Cinderella, and Snow White are all romantic dreamers and graceful.

Belle, Jasmine, Mulan, Ariel, and Pocahontas have a strong-willed personality that shows lots of determination and cunning and are lovers of adventure.

Merida, Tiana, and Rapunzel are realistic characters who fought to make their dreams come true and viewed their objectives first before romance.

Other Princesses who appeared in Disney movies but are not part of the Disney Princess Franchise are:

  • Vanellope von Schweetz

Disney Princesses are a significant part of Disney’s culture. Several other movies are based on their stories and share several similarities. With their famous costumes, these characters represent a wide range of different females who promote royalty, friendship, and womanhood to inspire the world.
